Digital passport photo: 600×600 JPEG
For many US online passport renewals and visa forms, you upload a square color JPEG instead of mailing a print. A common size is 600 × 600 pixels, which is 2×2 inches at 300 dpi. Always follow the form’s own file-size and dimension limits—confirm on the official site when you apply.
What the file should look like
- Square JPEG, typically 600×600 (or larger if the form allows).
- Same composition rules as a printed photo: head size, white/off-white background, no glasses, neutral expression.
- No beauty filters or face retouching. PassPhotoSnap never changes your face—only crop, scale, slight rotate, and background.
How to export one
- Take a clear photo against a light wall, camera at eye level.
- Open PassPhotoSnap, align with the head and eye guides.
- Choose white background if needed, then download the 600×600 JPG.
- Upload that file to the renewal or visa form. Keep a copy until your application is accepted.
File size tips
Some portals reject files that are too large or too small. If your JPEG is oversized, export again at quality ~0.9 or compress gently without changing dimensions or re-editing the face. If it is too small, start from a higher-resolution source photo.
